On a trip to Greece in 2023, Ben and Lucy fell in love with the freedom of exploring together on a scooter. It was a stylish Piaggio Medley, and it completely sold them on the scooter experience. When they returned home, they bought a Vespa Primavera 150 from Scooter Central as a beach run-around, but it quickly became their primary way of getting around the city.

Fast forward to 2026, Lucy and Ben were both working in corporate law, newly engaged and saw that Scooter Central was up for sale. With Lucy’s marketing background, Ben’s professional sailing background and their combined legal experience, they saw the opportunity to own a business – particularly one they already knew and loved – as an exciting new challenge.

Since Scooter Central first opened in 2004, the store has sold a huge range of scooters from many of the industry’s leading brands. By bringing the best products together under one roof, we can help each customer find the scooter that best suits their needs and budget. We also sell spare parts for a wide range of bikes, supplying both other workshops and customers across Australia, and have expanded our accessories range to offer one of the largest collections available in an Australian scooter store.

When the previous owners couldn’t find the riding apparel they wanted to offer customers, Scooter Central became the first Australian distributor of US-based Corazzo Design. They later acquired Corazzo Design, and today we continue to design, manufacture and distribute the brand worldwide, ensuring our customers have access to quality riding apparel designed by riders, for riders.
