Group rides of Sydney by Steve at Scooter Central
Have you recently bought a scooter and interested joining in on some group rides?
It’s a great way to get out and be social and meet other Scooter riders. It’s also great opportunity to ride within a group and ride further than you may usually ride by yourself.
There are a variety of different groups on Facebook who do regular rides. From my experience these are just some of the Sydney groups that have members that I know and that I frequently ride with. Have a look through Facebook at the many Sydney groups and join one or join them all. 😊
- Manly Mods- All types of Scooters welcome. Northern Beaches based scooter group interested in keeping Mod culture alive through their interests in scooters and music. Think Quadrophenia, The Jam and Oasis. Regular rides published monthly. This group often meet up with the other scooter groups for rides and attending concerts.
Previous rides include Palm Beach, Pie in the Sky, Royal National Park, Cronulla, Sea Cliff Bridge.
- Sydney Scooter Social- All scooters welcome. Based out of the Palisade Hotel in The Rocks. Keeping the Faith in Sydney. Northern Soul and SKA. The place to meet and share your love of all things scootering. The “Kick off Spring” and Three Bridges Ride are always fun. Scooterists from every club and every make of scooter welcome.
- Vespa Club Sydney – . Vespa scooters only. Sydney’s official Vespa Club affiliated to the nationwide Club, The Vespa Club of Australia. This group is for old to new Vespas. Monthly rides and dinners. Australian Vespa Days Rally Sunshine Coast March 2025. Jump on facebook to see more.
Whats a typical ride like?
In a recent group ride we lead a group of riders from the Inner West and the Northern Beaches on a Northern Beaches Lookout ride to showcase the natural beauty the beaches have to offer. Our first stop was Tania Park before making our way to North Head for a coffee. We found that many of the Sydney siders had not been to either lookout before. From there we made our way along Manly beach through Freshwater and Curl Curl before making our way up to Edgecliffe Boulevard for our final lockout. Our last stop of the day was The Uppercrust Pie shop for a pie and drink before the riders broke off to head back to their home locations. These rides cater for all types of riders from learners to experienced riders. I have found all the groups particularly welcoming and always happy to meet and chat to new riders.
